Attorney John D. Landwehr practices in the areas of LLC formation, commercial law, banking, real estate, and estate and succession planning. He also represents professionals in licensing matters. He enjoys solving problems so that his clients can be successful.
For decades, large corporations, family-owned businesses, employers, associations, individuals, and others have turned to John for legal help. Why? John’s “hobby” is local politics. After serving seven years on the City Council in Jefferson City, John was elected Mayor in 2003 and re-elected in 2007 for a second term that ended in April 2011. He has stayed active with local causes by serving as President of Catholic Charities of Central & Northern Missouri and Chairman of the Diocese Planned Giving Committee. He coordinates the annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament for Kiwanis and formed the Jefferson City Bocce Association.
John received his B.A. (1974) and M.A. (1975) in Philosophy from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1981. Before joining CVDL in 1984, John served as an Assistant Attorney General under John D. Ashcroft for three years.
John is married to Margaret (“Peggy”) Keate Landwehr. They have two children, Rebecca (32) and David (30).
